  1. I grew up with this man’s music. He is a major figure in the music scene.

What most people do not know is that OPM would not have started had not guys like Juan de la Cruz and your brother tested the waters for Pinoy rock.

“Clap for the Wolfman/ He’s gonna raise your record high”

  2. batjay,

o, one degree of separation uli. my gawd, kuya mo pala si howlin’ dave! magsing-edad kami at isa sya sa rock icons nung martial law. Palagi kong nababasa ang mga news and features about him sa jingle chrordbook magazines.

kaya pala very good singing and speaking voice mo, may pinagmanahang ama at kuya 🙂

oo nga tito rolly. i remember when i was growing up, my brother was a big influence in my life as well as the music that i love.

  4. bosing,

feeling touching elbows ako with rock royalty (trough you) and i proudly related to p about your kuya. yung bestfriend ko sa los banos, fan din ng kuya mo.

ASTIG!!

buti pala manong batjay di ka naging professional rocker o kaya recording artist…he he.

    ingat!

  7. The end of eras always have a melancholy shade about them. I remember Pinoy Rock remotely through my sisters and brothers. Ate especially was a fan of Dante, I think pumupunta pa nga sila sa station noon, sila ng mga kaklase niya sa (formerly) Maryknoll.

Sana mag-live na ulit ang Rock 990. I know a lot of people would be the better for it.

  8. oh my gawd! dear kuya mo pala si Howlin’ Dave! etong storya ko… way back in the early 80s before I even turned a teenager and before leaving for the US, me and my bestfriend used to hang out at the radio station every single day because we were groupies, este, friends of one of the DJs (si Spirit, remember him?) anyway, i did a project for school about all the DJs at the station including the popular Howlin’ Dave. so i told him that i needed to take his picture so i can include it in my project. game naman sya. so he made me follow him to the men’s banyo and made me take a picture of him while he was peeing (in true Howlin’ Dave fashion)! i took a picture of his backside: him facing the urinal peeing but with his face turned and looking directly at me. i got a 100 on that project. and i still have the famous picture. you think i can make money off of it? the picture, i mean!

  9. hey PG.

    a fellow rocker. cool.

may history ka pala with the RJ jocks. are you still in touch with the spirit? the rock of manila website is still active and you can contact the rockjocks from there. typical howlin’ dave to lead you into the men’s room for a photo. sayang – backside lang ang nakuha mo.

i’ll tell dante about your story – he’ll probably get a big kick out of it. i’m not sure if he’ll remember though. although he might, considering what transpired.

    ingat.
    jay
