Makes you think all the world’s a sunny day

mga paboritong pinakikingan na kanta:

  1. blow away, george harrison – george was the funniest of all the beatles. he had the quick wit that i admire so much in comedians. sayang maaga siyang kinuha ni lord. this song came out in 1979. pag naririnig ko ang kantang ito, naaalala ko ang aking magic year when i turned 13 years old.
  2. ring of fire, johnny cash – the ultimate love song. ginawa ito ni june carter-cash para sa soon to be husband johnny. i love the original version with the mariachi horns but this one’s ok too kahit mellowed down na. johnny’s deep stentorian voice (na parang tinatakot ang diyos) is really out of this world, kitang kita ito lalo na sa kanyang signature walk the line.
  3. summer fling, kd lang – siguro, isa ito sa mga kantang dadalhin ko pag alam kong magiging stranded ako sa desert island. it’s just a feel good song that i play all the time. kahit siguro matanggal ang kuko ko sa paa at marinig ko ang kantang ito, matutuwa pa rin ako.
  4. celebrate me home, kenny loggins – pag kinuha na ako ni lord, 40 or so years from now at pupunta na ako sa rock and roll party in the sky, gusto ko, ito ang kantahin sa burol. wala nang kabaong, diretso na ako agad sa magic oven para abo na agad.

  1. Hello Jay!

Love your selections! If you don’t mind, may dalawa akong kanta na gusto kong isingit bilang runner-up, if only because they remind me of a simpler time:

    Horse with no Name (America)
    Summer Breeze (Seals and Crofts)

I hope you don’t find them corny….sige ingat!

  2. thank you classmate daisy.

i love those those two groups too, especially seals and crofts. i covered one that i really like. it’s called “EAST OF GINGER TREES“.

the melody and the lyrics are haunting. when i listen to this song, i am reminded of my dad. the original version is one of my favorites.

  3. Thank you Jay! Magco-comment nga sana ako tungkol sa “How You Gonna See Me Now” pero natulala ako….it’s one of those songs na gusto ko yung melody pero hindi ko maalala yung buong lyrics (except for “please don’t see me ugly babe” hehe), kaya hindi ko na-realize na tungkol sa alcoholic pala yung kanta—thanks for helping me understand!

Sige, balik uli sa trabaho bago ako mapaiyak (in a good way)….

  7. he he he….salamat sa intro pre……pag natuloy ang reunion next year sana mabuo ang banda at makatugtog ulit …..sarap balikan ng nakaraan….

  8. Kung hindi kita nakilala, I probably wouldn’t have been introduced to these wonderful, wonderful songs… well, maybe except for Kenny Loggins. Thank you for educating me mylab.

    Labyu!

    lab u2.
