Life is just one f*cking beauty contest

4. si richard, ang tatay niyang motivational speaker ng isang “9 step plan on how to succeed in life”. he’s a loser

5. at ang nanay niyang si sheryl na sobrang busy sa trabaho kaya puro take out fried chicken na lang parati ang ulam nila sa bahay (gamit din nila ang standard na utensils na ginagamit sa pagkain ng mga pinoy sa america: “plastic spoon and fork and paper plates”).

sa pagbyahe ng pamilya papunta sa california umikot ang storya. pakiramdam ko nga, tutuong tutuo ang mga na experience nila. habang nanonood ako, para rin akong nakasakay doon sa bus, kasama nilang bumabyahe at parehong na-e-experience ang mga kamalasan nila at mini triumphs. habang tumatagal, kasali ka na rin ako sa pamilya nila at gusto ko na ring manalo si olive sa “little miss sunshine” beauty contest kahit alam kong wala siyang pag-asang manalo. in the end, the “little miss sunshine contest” doesn’t matter to me anymore. nor does it matter, i believe, to them as well. dito ka biglang tatamaan ng message ng pelikulang ito: ang mga mahal mo sa buhay ang pinaka importante sa lahat.

kung mayroon kayong isang pelikula na papanoorin this summer – make it “little miss sunshine“. you’ll be so happy, you can’t stop crying.

  1. Dito sa pelikulang ito napag-alaman ko:

    1. it doesn’t always have to be a tearjerker to make it nice… hehehe

    2. no matter how crass some people may be, if you just listen to them, and not think that you know better all the time, they actually make a lot of sense

    3. the only way to stop yourself from being too self-involved is to be involved in another person’s dreams…

    and hopes…

and whatever else they may believe…

This is a very nice movie. Can’t wait for the DVD… hehehe. Thanks for taking me mylab. šŸ™‚

My name is Gary Granada, i’m a volunteer in an
ecumenical community called Kaalagad. I also teach and
write songs. I would like to invite you to a website I
made, and if you like some of the things you see, most
of them are downloadable for free.

There’s a little information there about Kaalagad as
well, and the little that we can generate out of that
all goes to the programs and projects of Kaalagad.

It would also help if you can tell others about it,
thank you. (and so sorry if im being a nuisance~~)

  3. hey jay, when i was a senior in high school, i played the lead role in an off-broadway play called… “little mary sunshine”!!! that was the kookiest memory of my high school life… i ended up being thrown into the pool by my cast-mates… it wasn’t the best script in town but boy, was it fun to stage!!! =)

  4. hi lara. during my senior high school year, i also played the lead in a play called “pinturahan ng kalburo”. it was a joint play that our school did with joey reyes of ateneo. they did “bayan-bayanan”.

i had a great time playing the subversive ex-NPA father or a petty crook.

  5. jay, i wasn’t by any means a kooky character in the play. in fact, my dad nearly walked out on it when he saw me acting all prim and proper and sweety tweetums. it positively made him sick!!!
