So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the house

ano ba ang mga possibleng meaning ng sign bukod sa illegal immigrants crossing? gumawa si carlos mencia ng skit about the sign where he asked people about what it really means and it was both funny and bothering at the same time.

  1. pwedeng sabihin may malaking bargain sa isang flea market kaya nararapat sumugod ang buong pamilya to join the jam. yung sign na caution? hmm, how about as acronym for california auction?

  2. yes, i shit you not, it is. kaya lang tinanggal na nga nila. when they took it down, i felt suprise, sadness and then joy. the exact opposite of what i felt when i first saw it.

  3. Let’s ignore the politics behind the sign for a moment. The sign was posted on a freeway where crossing is illegal. Thus, another way I would interpret the sign is to watch for people (regardless of their immigration status) who may attempt to unsafely (word ba iyon?) cross the highway. I, for one, saw that sign 2 years ago when I drove on 5 from San Diego to L.A. And if I remember right, the sign was on a lonely stretch of the highway where it is possible that people may attempt to cross it at any given time of day or night.

I mean, it’s not like it was randomly put up there by some menacing John Doe, right? I bet pinagusapan yang sign na yan, pinagplanuhan, pinagbotohan at pinagdesisyunan kaya nailagay siya dyan. So why not just come out clean at umamin na lang kung ano talaga ang ibig nilang sabihin? Again… it is soooo simple.

I heared a joke sa radio pinoy in internet.it goes like this…

  7. Well I don’t think that is necessarily better. If you put up a sign for pedestrians and motorists to follow, you better be clear what you want to say. What would happen if signs such as ‘no U-turn’, ‘no right turn’, ‘no left turn’ or heaven forbid, ‘STOP’ were made to be open for interpretation?

  8. ayaw atang sabihin directly nung mga gumawa ng sign na ito ay warning para sa mga driver sa freeway to watch out for illegal aliens crossing.

the ambiguity of the sign made it even more controversial.

  9. hmm, i still don’t see anything wrong with the sign. from where i sit it simply says, “o, may mga tumatawid dito. please drive carefully. be prepared to stop (sa freeway!)…”

jet, those signs you mentioned (no U-turn, no right turn, no left turn, STOP) are already very clear and specific with what they want to say but i’ve seen not a few who cannot see them clearly. or refuse to. basta wala silang nakita. baka cannot read lol…

lol @ bj’s caution and unan. reminds me someone. sabi niya, knees daw ay tuhod sa tagalog and knee is one-hod. cotton is bulak and bulaklak is cottonton. aray ko indeed lol…

  10. Wataymintusey is ah . . . “hehehe. it’s impossible to ignore the political and racial implications of the sign because you can’t find it anywhere else.” racial pa rin sir kasi kilala naman natin kung sino ang mga nagcocross dun. Racist or rasista pa rin.

  11. Wow the sign lasted for more than a day without anyone’s head rolling? That’s one big difference between the UK & the US. Here “human rights” and “political correctness” rule supreme in ridiculous (spelling??) proportions ha.

You actually get criminals caught in the act, shouting “I know my human rights” to the cops (PC for brits). Then they sue the Met because of a broken finger, aggravation, stress, trauma etc etc

  12. i’m actually amused and bothered at the same time at the guy’s “off-camera” candidness. he could’ve said “illegal immigrants” but he just had to say “wetbacks”.

  13. racism will never stop, kahit nakasulat equal opportunity employer, meron isang copying chain na pinipili ay mga ka relihiyon ni John Travolta, minsan sa mga department store, kailangan meron kang presentation ng katawan mo like mas acceptable ka kung meron kang mga visible na tattoo or several body piercings, eh kung lola ka na, siempre conservative ka, di ka nila iha hire, lol
