  1. The World According to Garp by John Irving
  2. Cosmos by Carl Sagan
  3. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  4. Noli Me Tangere by Jose Rizal
  5. The Godfather 1 and 2 by by Francis Ford Coppola
  6. Groundhog Day by Harold Ramis
  7. Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola
  8. The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
  9. Running on Empty by Jackson Browne
  10. The White Album by The Beatles

Garp made me realize what’s possible in literature. Cosmos confirmed my long suspicion that my religious beliefs are bogus, and, that there is no god. Mockingbird was the English book-report that transcended homework. Noli made me laugh and cry – Rizal was a genius. Godfather 1 and 2 – best movie, ever. Yes, I consider them as 1 film, and oh by the way, you can throw Godftather 3 in the basurahan. Groundhog Day, best comedy film in my universe, funny and soooo deep. Apocalypse Now is about how a director will go to the depths of his madness in pursuit of his passion. I can dig that. Dark Side of the Moon is THE concept album. It rocked my adolescent world and resonates to this day. Running on Empty is the soundtrack of my life. The White Album, the Beatles just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. It’s an album about nothing but still makes total sense.

if you see her say hello

yung blood on the tracks ang isa sa mga paborito kong LP ni dylan. written with blood, sweat and tears, it’s the best break-up album of all time. listen to “if you see her. say hello” and you’ll understand why.

also watch californication season 1, episode 5. david duchovny explained it well.

powderfinger

pero salamat kay commander hadfield dahil tinutuo niya ang pangarap ko. i now live my dream vicariously through him.

harvest moon

english translation ng kawawang cowboy

I am the poor cowboy
My bubble gum is fermented fruit
My lunch is always cassava
My older sister and brother
My mom, dad, grandma, the whole family
They are all not cowboys
I am a vagabond, alone
The horse that I have has a button.

The poor cowboy
Has a gone with no bullets
Has a pocket but without money
I am the cowboy
Always alone
My horse has no feet
And my underwear has a hole.
